2012 CQ Redo Update

A lot of people seemed like they couldn't get around the green silk in the middle so I put the fabric piece behind the blocks to show what I envision with the half squares around the outside. The green looks bright in the picture because it is silk and it gets shiny with the flash. I promise that it doesn't look so bright with the blocks. It fits with the colors. The brown African fabric will be the border around the green silk.

I have put the strip blocks in between the fans at the corners. There will be purple silk on the outside edge. I am liking where this is going more than before.

Oh, I like this design.

Have you tried other colors instead of the green? One of the warm tones maybe? Also maybe try black to see if it would highlight the patching colors? I'm kind of wondering if maybe the green is too much and too solid a color.

I thought that might work. The green center square doesn't catch my eye as much now that there is green around the edges.

How big are the squares?

Just like I suggested! and pretty too! Had you planned to do the green all along? If so, it is a good idea.

No more black borders for me. I learned that lesson when I did that before. The reason? They usually hang quilts on a black background at shows so the border goes away.

I did intend the green in the border all along. My very favorite green! Right Marci? There will be the brown African fabric outside the green. The picture shows the green as bright but it really blends well with the colors of the blocks. It just gets shiny because of the flash of the camera.

Thanks Everybody for the feedback!

that's a good point about the black border
